For my move from Los Angeles, CA to Franklin, TN, I completely lucked out with Nik and Tyler, who came highly recommended through my realtor. From my first phone call with them through purchasing my new home and well afterwards, they could not have been more knowledgeable and helpful. All the resources they provided throughout the buying process were excellent, from showing me homes through FaceTime to home inspectors through repairs and insurance agents, I felt very well taken care of, understood and appreciated. They went above and beyond to help me and made the transition to a different and new State a very smooth and enjoyable experience. I could not have wished for a better team and have already recommended them to a few of my friends who intend to make the move to Tennessee!

For those in need of Realtor services, I can’t recommend Nik highly enough. Let me share my story as I hope it helps others because the right Realtor can mean everything and can potentially save thousands. I retired after almost 30 years in the Air Force and have experienced my fair share of moving and had varied experiences with realtors on buying/selling properties over the years. Just prior to retiring in Florida and moving to Tennessee, I consulted a good friend and another very successful Florida realtor that I can easily say was in the top three realtors I have ever had. I asked who I should talk to about a house in Nashville. Nik was her immediate answer. I quickly found out for myself why. I needed someone I could trust because I required a house with a challenging must-have list with a constrained budget and I was half a world away in Guam. Not realizing the time zone difference, I surprisingly got text responses almost immediately. On some days, it must have been 2am their time. Nik tag-teams effort with her husband and they are truly a power team when it comes to the real estate market. We went through several properties over the course of a month. They saved me an estimated $100K in NOT going through with the first house I put an offer on because the inspection on that property was less than stellar. They honestly have your best interests at heart and they will call the situation ugly if needed no matter how many times they start their search over from scratch. Fast forward to the end, Nik and her husband found a property that checked 95% of wants/needs and under budget. I’m thankful they were able to move quickly and snag the property because the market was particularly not in my favor at the time. They are amazing at negotiating and finding gems through their network they have established over the years. Nik and company are the type of realtors you pay premium for and can only get if you are a celebrity, but they are humble and treat you like family. I feel like Nik and her husband should have their own TV show. Yea, they are that good.

We relocated from out of state for my husband's job and Nik & TJ helped us find our home in the Franklin area. They were so patient with us! We were wanting as much land as we could get in a drivable proximity to our daughter's school. That was no small task... especially in this hot market! So at the same time, we had to be realistic and realize we might not find what we ultimately wanted... so we needed to run two paths simultaneously, also looking for a nice home that might not have land, but was close to school. We were all over the map (literally & figuratively) but Nik & TJ were patient, encouraging and dedicated to helping us find the right home. I cannot recommend them enough. There's simply no way to overstate the quality of experience we had with Nik + TJ. Nik redefined what "Realtor" means. Most realtors are invested in the transaction -- buying or selling -- and then move on. Even if they're world-class, it's a temporary moment in time. With Nik, from the moment we met her, she went above and beyond...way beyond the transaction itself. She welcomed us with a bespoke "Welcome to Nashville" gift basket waiting for us in the car that TJ patiently drove so that we didn't have to worry about navigation with our two-year old daughter. After finding the ideal home, Nik regularly ran point on every problem we had -- big to small. Most importantly, literally months after the transaction is over, Nik is still helping us integrate to Nashville and find the best contractors, schools, handymen, restaurants...She continues to check in and go out of her way for us. Both she and TJ stopped by our home to drop off a gift for our daughter's birthday. It's a level of service and quality beyond words and for us, redefined the bar of what a Realtor can be.

From beginning to end Nik was always on top of everything. She was professional and personal every step of the way. We found my house on the 29th of one month and I was in on the 21st of the next, less than one month for everything!!! Her skills and sincere thoughtfulness continues to this day. I have received emails with helpful reminders for winterizing the house, who to call, tax information and just letting me know that she is available to help in anyway she can. Nik helped my husband and I buy our vacation property when she was working in East TN. I emailed her what we were looking for, along with a few places I had found online and scheduled a whirlwind weekend of showings with her. One house that we REALLY liked - based on the listing and a select few photos - she showed it to us and then said "there is no way I would let you buy this house" (Nik - remember the one with the super cool raised garden beds...and all the funky additions that looked like the building materials had been scavenged from the local dump? LOL) We left our three day weekend with a contract on a property in foreclosure. We spent a bit of time going back and forth with Nik, the bank, a property appraiser/home inspection - etc. Suffice it to say there was quite a bit of drama involved with purchasing this property and since we were in Florida Nik stepped up and met these folks at the property so they could do their thing. After jumping thru the necessary hoops with the bank and a less than cooperative seller's agent we finally closed on our little slice of mountain heaven! Nik was a pleasure to work with and I can't thank her enough for doing all the legwork that we were not there to do ourselves. We enjoy every single minute we get to spend in Tennessee and Nik is the one that made it happen! She's not just an agent to help you buy or sell, she's an instant friend. I love that she has become part of our "Tennessee family".

Nik is amazing! She will always make sure you are taken care of, fight for you and not just for what benefits her, look out for your best interests and always be honest. She has your back no matter if you're the buyer or seller and I wouldn't go anywhere else. Even after we had closed and moved in, we had a slight issue with our HVAC and had to contact the home warranty people, Nik was personally calling and texting their rep for me on off hours to make sure everything was taken care of immediately. Nik made the process of buying our first house smooth and fun. We keep hearing horror stories from our friends of all the stress of their house buying experience and we had none of that. She was the perfect mix of the encouraging, adventurous and realistic about what house ownership would be like. She helped us dream through what we really needed in a house and which parts of our dreams would be unrealistic and disappointing. We found our house and made an offer in a week and a half. We will have Nik back when it comes time to sell our house in the upcoming years.

Nik held my hand through selling our home of 28 years. A good thing but emotional for me. She was sensitive to my feelings which meant so much. She understood it was a home and not just a house to sell. We sold it on the very first day which totally freaked me out, but she was right there! Couldn't recommend any higher than a 5 but she's a 10 in my book. Trust her instincts!

I was introduced to nik through my father. My husband and I was wanting to buy our first home and had been given the run around all seemed hopeless. My dad said he knew the perfect person to help and she could make things happen. I met with nik and she did just that, connected us with the right lender and our journey began. The thing I loved most was it didn't feel like she was just trying to sell us a house. We were shown many homes as soon as we walked in she would say no way. She would not let us settle for something she didn't believe in. That showed me a lot about her character. I knew she had sold million dollar homes and we were looking to spend 120,000 but she treated us just as if we were buying a home for a million dollars. She definitely became family to us. I sold two homes and purchased one with Nik. She thoroughly researched the market and advised me of my options to price my house (high, medium, low). My first home sold within 22 hours of being listed. My second home sold within 48 hours ( I listed in the mid range). This is the second house I've purchased. I knew the exact house I wanted and how much I was going to pay. As soon as I told Nik, I just sat back. I’m in the military and had to sell our home relatively quick and we knew we weren’t going to use the agent who helped us purchase the house, this is a different story and I want to focus on our selling agent, Nik Shewmaker. We knew we had to find an agent that was going to fulfill our expectations which wasn’t going to be easy due to our high standards. Nik was referred to us by a friend who I’d trust my life with so I called her for an interview. First impressions are important and she definitely didn’t come up short on leaving a lasting one. Nik was fully prepared and very well versed about the market and what our strategy should be, she described the difference between being on the market and in the market. As I interviewed her I was impressed with her answers, they weren’t so much what I wanted to hear but what I needed to hear and sometimes they were one in the same. Needless to say, we hired Nik without concern or doubt and this held true throughout the entire time our house was in the market. When we initially put our home up for sale the original listing price was a long shot but if sold we would have walked away with zero profit. Our house was certainly worth every penny we listed it for; however, the timing wasn’t ideal because it was definitely a buyer’s market and sellers were popping up everywhere making it extremely difficult to get what we wanted. When a seller is in this position, you need someone like Nik to lead you through this chaotic and emotional situation. In order to be competitive we had to drop the price several times and each time I would let my emotions get the best of me and I would vent my frustrations to her. I believe I drove Nik crazy sometimes but she insisted I wasn’t and thankfully she has an unbelievable talent to calm people down with her delightful southern charm and knew exactly how to keep me focused. At times, I would only see the dark cloud whereas she would always see the silver lining and this reassured my wife and I that everything would work out. Things did come together because we sold our home in an unruly market and Nik pulled off what I thought would be impossible in the timeframe I gave her. We’ve actually had another agent tell us we should feel very fortunate to have sold our house when we did due to the high volume of comparable homes for sale. That says a great deal about Nik’s efforts, advertising approach and market strategy, she was always two steps ahead of everyone else. I just can’t say enough on how pleased and blessed we were to have her on our side. We were very fortunate to have Nik Shewmaker as our agent as she is thee best agent in the great state of Tennessee. She is a take-charge person who presents creative ideas and thinks outside the box which makes her very successful.
